Looking for Carol Ann Haynes, mother Connie, related to Elwood P. Haynes.

Question

I am the son of Carol Ann Haynes.  I am reported to be a relative of the inventor Elwood P. Haynes.  I am uncertain of the exact relationship.  Carol Ann's mother was named Connie, or some variant.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Elwood P. Haynes was born October 14, 1857, in Portland, IN. His father was Jacob M. Haynes. His ancestors came to New England in 1638. Taken from Wikipedia. 

Would you know the maiden name of Carol Ann Haynes mother, Connie? Do you know when (what year) or where (country, county and or city) she was  born? When and where was she married?

No, not yet.  I am trying to get that information now.  I have looked at records of Elwood, and I have yet to find any direct connection to him.  Carol Ann was born in 1941, so I estimate a birthdate for Connie to be between 1925 and 1911 ( conservative range, I hope).  I believe Connie to be short for Constance, perhaps.  It may have been a middle name or simply a nickname.

I learned that we are "related" to Elwood P. Haynes, the inventor.  But, the nature of the relationship I did not learn.  It may be an extremely distant relative.

I have also learned that Carol Ann's DOB is 6/24/1941, most probably in Michigan, possibly Utica, near Detroit..  I can find no record of a Haynes giving birth to a daughter named Carol Ann.

 

If I can find that, I think it would be most helpful.  I have found a divorce record for her dated 2/6/78 in Los Angeles County, but it contained no personal information.
