I have their original birth certificates. I know that they were in the upstate NY area around Batavia, Buffalo, I don't know if they were adopted back then or how to try to locate them. I know the older brother was born in 1951 in Utica, NY and I know the other was born in Buffalo,NY at Deacones Hospital in 1955. Im getting so discouraged and I truly could use any advise or help that anyone may have.

My nephew was born out of wedlock. All he knew was Fathers name, which was a common one, and State where he was thought to have lived. Nephew had his DNA done and uploaded to several sites, trying to find his biological Father.  Come to find out his 1/2 brothers had been trying to find him also, and they connected though their DNA tests.  It would be worth a try, to do same thing.

That is a really tricky thing Irene. Unfortunately WikiTree does not post information on living individuals. So getting someone with an answer specifically for you may not happen.

The GOOD thing? Since you have posted this question, it will pop-up if someone else is looking for the same family.  WikiTree is great at getting to the top of google searches.

I, personally, think we should have an Adoption Project, to handle resources and information by state for people just like you (or me) who want to find more resources on adoptions.

Another thing to think about is DNA. I know that DNA is helping people who are connected to my families through adoptions. They are finding answers through the use of DNA.

I've only heard of adoptions being listed in newspapers, and even then it was to congratulate the parents on the adoption (It was obviously public). My experience has been the only way to locate biological parents is to work the DNA. WikiTree has a group called Adoption Angels where you can fill out an application to assist in your search or answer questions on how to solve your mystery.
