No. The Cason's were amongst the earliest colonial pioneers to arrive in America from England early16th Century.  Your James Cason was born in Orange County, VA on July 23, 1758. He died in Jackson County, TN on July 12, 1842, at age 83 years, 11 months and 20 days.   He married Rebecca Smith Feb. 17, 1785. Rebecca died 9/8/1836 at age 70. He entered the Revolutionary War in Spotslvania County, VA in 1777.

His application for revolutionary war pension #S3124, available online at www.fold3.com, lists children Edward M. Cason b. 1/3/1805, Susan (Susannah) b. 1/1/1790 and Eliza b. 10/17/1807.  Note Fold 3 is a fee based service that is working to digitize the records of the National Archives from pre-revolutionary, Civil War, WWI, WWII and Korean War.  It's worth the price of enrollment.
