If you have family members buried in an abandoned cemetery in Eldersburg, Maryland, you may have important information! 200 years ago a Baptist minister named Edward Choate started a church there. Over a period of 40 years there were at least a couple dozen burials in the church yard. Then the church died. In 1910 it became a house. Over the next century the tombstones weathered, were broken up, or taken away. I have friends who are looking to buy the house and want to know what became of the cemetery and the people in it. I found a genealogy of the Choates -- see link for Edward and his ancestors -- and created a category page for the cemetery containing everything I've been able to find on it. ). If there's any chance you can connect your family to this cemetery, and would add to the record, it would be most appreciated.
