Challenge of the week: Improve orphaned profiles

Hi WikiTreers,

Will you join our "Data Doctors" Challenge of the week?

Once again, Aleš has come up with something to help us work together on a category of profiles that need our help. This time it's "orphans," i.e. profiles without Profile Managers.

Here is the table of orphaned profiles that could use some TLC.

Here's how to help. On the table, click on a number you see in the "Open" column or the column for the century in which you feel comfortable working, e.g. 1800s or 1900s. It doesn't matter which suggestion row you pick, e.g. "No dates on relatives" or "Father is too young." For this challenge, the individual errors and suggestions are just starting points that lead us to profiles that are likely to need help. When working on an orphaned profile, we don't just address individual suggestions. We look at the whole profile and try to improve everything we can about it before moving on to the next profile.

Will you join us?

If you're participating, please post here to let us know. It's nice to cheer each other on. Or post if you have any questions about how to participate.

Thanks for helping!

Challenge is active.
I've been working on some this morning but now my browser can't seem to resolve https://plus.wikitree.com.  Is anyone else having this issue?
Same here. "plus.wikitree.com took too long to respond."
Me, too!  no access to WikiTree+ all morning. I cleared cache and cookies, but it didn't help.
Eric, can you access WikiTree+ now?  I still can't.
I hear it's been down for 12 hours.
Problem is fixed.
Joining the orphan challange :)

I have been working on them this week.  I was working on Illinois Unsourced Profiles, went through the family line of one, and almost all those connected to him were unsourced (no {{ unsourced }} tag and no profile manager. Cleaned them all up using WT Sourcer!  They look good now!wink

How do you "complete" the entry so people don't keep looking at it?

Haven't done one of these before, but I did! I worked on Charles Urban and his father Anton Urban. Found sources for both. Hope to work on another one or two. Fun!

I do have a question about this: I did not "appoint" myself as profile manager for the 2 people I worked on. Since I have no relationship to them (that I know of--), that seems to be appropriate. Is that OK? TIA for info.
