Parents of John Vaughan b. 1780 father of Benjamin Vaughan who died in Hawkins, Hancock, Tennessee, United States

I need to amend this inquiry.  He  probably died in McNairy County, TN or Hardeman County, TN  where he lived for many years...

See census records for 1860 in McNairy County, TN.   He is with Francis and William.  Compare that with census records for 1850 in Hardeman County, Tn.  His wife Jane is still alive.  Francis is there and his daughter Dolly.  Some of the younger children are hers, Elizabeth, William W, John Franklin, and a Dolly, but the last name on that census looks like Cradempsey, and that name is never found again.  Dolly married John Nuckolls, who already had custody of her two children named Thomas and Lucretia.  Long story there...there still remains a William and that may be Francis's child. I don't think it is Johns child because Jane was fairly old.  You will find Dolly and John in Madison County, AR for 1860.  Which is where a lot of the Vaughans went from Hawkins County, TN.

This will list William P. Vaughan and John Vaughan.  I propose that this is the father of both.  Vaughan-1278 should now be added to John Vaughan-2986.

I do believe that William Patrick Vaughan is Johns father.  I'm not sure I have proof yet.

I will do that but the will states that William P. was the son of John M Vaughan.  I believe that James, and Benjamin might have been the brothers of John M Vaughan. Not his father.  The will is the proof.  The 1830 census shows a James next to John and Benjamin is on the previous page.  George I believe if memory serves me is several more pages down.  There was a William, Benjamin, Jonathan listed on the census as well.  More information is needed at this point.

The William Patrick Vaughan I am researching was born in 1750, so he could not be John M. Vaughan's son.  You have to be very careful with the Vaughan genealogy.  Everybody has a son named William or John.  The information provided through wills is wonderful.  I wish I could find one for William and Fereby, but haven't found one yet.  Good luck on everything.  If you find something on my William Patrick Vaughan, send me message.  Thanks a million...
