I wanted to share this family photo of John Bradley with the community. Location: Vicksburg, Mississippi, Confederate States of America. Date: unknown.

There's a really good story to go with this. Instead of sitting the war out in a Confederate POW camp, he went home. A very short military experience, but, he got away with his life and apparently good health. I'm still looking for the more original of this copy. The Mississippi River was an important waterway during the Civil War.

 

Additional note: John's brother Amos was also in the Navy and was one of the early recipients of the Congressional Medal of Honor.
