G2G: How to handle all the WT error suggestions after IrishGenealogy.ie redesign?

Question

I just checked my WT suggestions and now have a flood of errors after the IrishGenealogy.ie redesign (Error 965: Link error 404 Not Found)

Does the Ireland Project have any advice on how to handle all of these? Do we just ignore them for the moment? Will there be an EditBot fix or other WikiTree solution? Obviously lots of us are in the same boat. Iceberg ahead…

I did see that too, but it doesn't have any advice on how to deal with all the broken links that now appear on so many Ireland profiles.

I'm not sure that an EditBot fix is possible. If the old URL is:

https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/transcript-civil/66f26d1669285

and the new URL is:

https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/view/?record_id=a2e3957fce-3280

then there doesn't seem to be any way to compute the new URL from the old URL.

The only thing I could do about old citations in Sourcer that could help would be if you selected the whole citation I might be able to do a search on the new site based on all the info in the citation. I have done something similar for other sites that have changed.

So as you say, no way to compute new from old. I was thinking that EditBot could just remove all the offending “record” links and leave the “image” links that still work fine. So remove the citation part bolded below as an example:
