I mean late in the *decade* of the 1930s. Her exact date of death is presently unknown; I have yet to make inquiries of the City of Montreal, but I have been told by my mother that Mabel's grave is in a pauper's cemetery in the city's east end.
She was alive well into the 1930s. Her father was John Paisley, her mother Jeanie Paterson. Mabel married William Dudgeon in Wishaw in 1923. She came to Canada sometime in the late 1920s looking for work, but then took up with my maternal grandfather, Thomas Durnin! William Dudgeon divorced her in 1936, so she was still alive then.
My Mother Ann Frajkor (nee Durnin), remembers her mother dying of cancer sometime in the late 1930s.
