When Did Norval Malin Head, Mormon, Die?

Question

Norval Malin Head was born in 1815.  He married Sarah Moore in 1836 and is shown on the 1850 US Census in Pottawattamie County, Iowa.  His profile shows that he died in 1851, but the ''Membership of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1830-1848'' [Ancestry.com], shows that he died in 1881.  I can find no verification for either date, but I can't find him anywhere after the 1850 US Census.  I'm not LDS, so I don't know if there are records that I can't access.

Can anyone find a good source for Norval's death date?

User=generated family tree on family search shows Norval Malin Head as dying in Potawatomie, Iowa. (b.1815-1851) 

I'll look to see if there are any official State of Idaho death records for him.
