This is a tough question to answer. Charles LeRoy could be Charles

Le Roi. When he immigrated it was written by immigration,LeRoy.

You can look at birth records, France Birth and Christenings 1501-1907.

There are several listed in this time period. There are several family trees

you can look at on Ancestry.Com.So is it Roi.or LeRoi,or Leroy.

This is a sticky question.Good Luck.

In the probate records in Pope Co.,Il., (1843) it has Charles LeRoy alias King, & Charles King alias LeRoy. I do know he was born in France. Been working on this one on & off for 29 years. Don't even know where he was married. He was in Illinois when it first started to get settled. My father when he was young found a French coin on the land that Charles owned. I have that coin & the date is worn away, but I found it in a coin book & it dates between 1792 & 1794.

Thank You
