Quaker meeting categories -- what if not defined?

Hi,

I realized that a Quaker ancestor of mine wasn't tagged as such.

I tried to follow the directions in adding categories for the two meetings to which he belonged. I had thought that these were loosely defined, but it seems they need to have been defined by someone else in order for all of the pieces to come together.

I've tagged the question  with "quakers" in hopes someone from the project is watching the tag and might jump in and help me understand what I was supposed to do, I've just misunderstood, or can define the meetings' categories so that everything works as it's intended.

The profile is Hanks-736.

When you create a category you must edit to show the parent category  which I just did you can also add more information to the category by clicking the edit button

By clicking on the link while it was red  it took me to the category page. I then did a quick search under the Quaker category to find the parent categories that were needed http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:American_Quakers

If you locate the state you can then look for others under same category and what I do (shhhh I cheated) is clicked edit on those and copied the higher categories and pasted them into the new category ie Category: West River Monthly Meeting, Maryland

Gotcha -- somehow I blanked on the part where we remember that wikitree is a wiki, and as it's a wiki, clicking on the undefined (i.e. red) term is therefore a way to initiate the creation of a page to represent it.... kind of a "Doh!" moment for me. The rest (borrowing the syntax of a page that is similar) makes total sense. Thanks, Jacky.

I haven't written bios on everyone, some were here already. My goal is to 'clean up' and rewrite some of the orphan entries and make them more readable. I have more in the Schooley line to enter. Thank you so much!!!

These are the names so far:

3. Joseph is shown with two "Eliza Eblen" wives, they should probably be combined: Eblen-7 and Eblen-29

6. Janney-29

I created [[Category: Goose Creek Monthly Meeting, Virginia]]. You can paste that into the header of anyone who was a member of the meeting.  I added it to Parker-2233 and his wife Eblen-7, but their kids should have it too.

Myers-6727 belonged to the Hopewell Monthly Meeting, so he's connected now.  You can add [[Category: Hopewell Monthly Meeting, Virginia]] to his family members' profiles.

I don't see any sources for Parker-1396, but if they were married in Burlington, NJ MM, that category is set up and would be [[Category: Burlington Monthly Meeting, New Jersey]].

Finally, Janney-29 was a member of both the Falls MM & Goose Creek MM.  She has her categories now too.
