Happy Monday everyone!

The US Southern Colonies Project is always busy with something! We have a Profile of the Week submission to come up with in a couple of weeks and we are all so busy, I thought I would ask you to help us out!

Post in your replies, some US Southern Colonists profiles that need some special or just extra attention and we will add them to the list of profiles to be drawn from the hat for Profile of The Week, for the week of November 2nd.

Nominations will close Friday October 30, at 5:00PM PST. Nominations are now CLOSED. Thanks!

Great nominations everyone! The profile has been pulled from the hat and you will find out which profile it is when Anne announces it this coming week!

How easy is that?!?!

Thanks,

Mags

I would like to recommend the follow ing. Augustine Hunnicutt-89. ,Ann Newsom-235 , Ann Newsom-469. I would like help with this for the following reason. Hunnicutt-HeirsandRoots  heirsandrootsdotcom. / MyFamilyHunnicutt.htm states Augustine Hunnicutt married Anne News om daughter of William Newsom. I think these two Ann Newsom s are the same woman and can be merged.  I think it would be great if a project did complete and protect those profiles. I have sat on this info for over a year because my MS is bad and I have cognitive issues. I confuse number and it is a nightmare for me to keep multiple Augustine's separate. But the cool thing is. This marriage connects several families. Hunnicutt , Warren , Spencer ,Sheppard and News on as a start. Thru Elizabeth Spencer-2055 who married first Robert Sheppard Ill them married Thomas Warren who's daughter  Elizabeth Warren married John Hunnicutt. I find this very exciting because on the connections of so many lines. I'm not asking that someone else complete this work because I'm lazy... I really can't be trusted not to mess up.  Plus this one site sources many Hunnicutts and some other profiles of different names.

Thanks Trudy, sounds like a wonderful web of families to get stuck in!  Mags
Hey Mags , This also Makes a connection to William Carter and Charles Pitt. Most of these people can distantly connect to Washington-11 which opens up alot of new relative finds for people. And points out alot of living wikitree cousins.

I would like to nominate three sisters.  They are:

Leticia Ann Goodman, wife of William L. Adams.  WikiTree ID is Goodman-2121.

Frances Mae Goodman, wife of James Madison Henderson.  WikiTree ID is Goodman-2098.

Mary Melvina Goodman, wife of Oliver Cromwell Medearis.  WikiTree ID is Goodman-2126

These sisters had one brother, Samuel Henry Goodman. WikiTree ID is Goodman-2141.  I believe Samuel's profile is up to date but if additional information is uncovered, feel free to add to his profile as well.

I couldn't find a profile on WikiTree for the founder of Georgia, James Oglethorpe. I added it and it needs everything including connecting to the tree. It's also an interesting story.

I would recommend Rawleigh (Raleigh) Croshaw (aka Crowshaw).  He was a key figure in the success of England's first permanent American colony that began in Jamestown, Virginia.  There are 2 profiles currently on WikiTree for this "Adventurer of Purse & Person" explorer and early southern colonist.  One is Crowshaw-4 and the other is Croshaw-6.  I'd love to have help with the research needed to resolve some of the questions around this intriguing man's English heritage and his life in early, early Virginia so that these profiles could be merged and a good biography section be written.  There is a lot of material but it needs to be checked and organized!  Chet Snow
