I have the family records for Oldield in US starting 1750s

My great great aunt started assembling a family history in the late 1800s.  The records were passed down to my grandmother who continued the efforts of updating the records, then to my mother who was not interested.  I have them now and will pass them down to the eldest grand niece.  Meanwhile I'm willing to help anyone researching the Oldfield family in the US.  The records are an inverted tree (roots?) starting off with William Oldfield, born 1750, going to Jonathan Oldfield, born 1788 then branching out to all the descendants through the 1970s.  If you have a relative in the tree maybe I can help.  My time is limited but I have a great resource and will help as I can.

Would your work include Barney Oldfield, the race car driver? Berna Eli "Barney" Oldfield (January 29, 1878 – October 4, 1946) was an American pioneer automobile racer "whose name was synonymous with speed in the first two decades of the 20th century".[1] He began racing in 1902 and continued until his retirement in 1918. He was the first man to drive a car at 60 miles per hour (96 km/h). from Wikipedia

When my father was a little kid in the 1920's he would pretend that he was Barney Oldfield. The Barney first name stayed with him through high school.

Yes, he is in the book.  Do you need information to tie him to your family tree?  By the way, the Ford that Barny raced is in the Ford Museum.  Ford brought it out to Laguna Seca raceway a few years back when Ford sponsored the event.
If I get back the the Henry Ford museum some day, I'll look for Barney Oldfield's race car. My family does not link to Barney Oldfield except that my father was called Barney for a few years. It's interesting to think that at one time, being able to go 60 miles an hour was a big deal.

I checked out what Surnamedb.com had to say about the Oldfireld surname at:   http://www.surnamedb.com/Surname/Oldfield
