Anyone have or heard of Henry Preuix, became Long, 1273 in Stourton or Wiltshire England?

Yes. This was on the cover page of a LONG genealogy that was passed around in my family in the 1960's. Supposedly this man was the founder of the LONG family of Wraxall. The genealogy claimed connections to a colonial governor of someplace like Barbados, and then to Nicholas Long, quartermaster of the State of North Carolina during the revolutionary war, then to my ancestor, William Long of Rutherford County, NC. I kept it for many years , until I decided to do some actual research. Many of the connections  have been invented. HOWEVER, there WAS a Long family of Wraxall, in Wiltshire. Some of their descendants made it into the colonies. If you google the LONG SURNAME DNA project, you'll find some info and some descendants who know about this family. Good Luck.
