"Image" vs "Source" privacy of documents living people.

If you select "Source" instead of "Image" when adding digital media, does a thumbnail of the source document show anywhere? Currently the profile is set on private as the person is still living. I would like to make some of the profile public. However, I need more clarity on the privacy of source images so I will know if they need to be removed. Biggest concern would be privacy of digital "Source" like a birth certificate.

Thanks for any help with this question.

Hi Nancy,

Yes, thumbnail images are never private and there's no difference between how photos and source images are treated.

I can see the concern about a birth certificate for a living person -- I wouldn't upload that for other reasons -- but FWIW, the thumbnail is likely to be illegible.
