If Nauin was a nickname with Mary Ford. Who were Mary Ford's parents. Mary Ford was born on June 8, 1866 in Ireland and came to Pittston, Luzerne, Pennsylvania. She married Thomas Burke on February 3, 1888. On the marriage certificate of Mary Ford and Thomas Burke, it never gave who her parents were. It just had when Mary Ford was born, when she got married and where she got married.

Do you know what county in Ireland she was born in?

Sometime a death record will indicate parents names? Do you know when she died and or what cemetery she was  laid to rest in?

No I don't. I just know by the marriage certificate with my great grandfather Edward Burke. On his marriage certificate it is said that Nauin Ford. Nauin which is a nickname for Mary was born in Ireland and died before 1918. Thomas Burke her husband was a widow at the time in Pittston, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
You can actually view the 1880 census data for Luzerne, PA including Pittstown, for Ford b. IRE, there are families with daughters named Mary - but didn't see a match for b. 1866.  She may have immigrated after 1880 and then wouldn't appear on that census year.

Ford' in Ireland came from Cork County.  There were a few in other counties in Ireland. There is a break down of how many Ford's in each county in Ireland.

Irish people are for ever having nick names. They also have many generations of the same name. Make sure you look at the Irelans web sites besides looking up census, immigration records, ship records, and anything of news, church, court, property, and so forth along with any libraries in those towns.

There are a couple of Mary Ford's.

One Mary Ford (maiden name)

married Owen Carolan. WWI Veteran.

There was another who in a news paper could of been another Mary Ford.

The one you might be speaking about could be interesting. Hum.

Take a look at a married name also.

There is so much information that I could tie this question for ever.

Hang in there.

Isn't it wonderful doing reseach!
