I have a family tree excel sheet made by and collaborated on by the CARELOCK family records. I would like to create a easy to use comprehensive family tree.

Would this be a GEDcom?

Although people do upload large family trees, my understanding is that you should only upload small pieces of the tree and then clean up the data that has been uploaded so that it will fit in with the Wikitree format.

All too often, I've stumbled across automated GEDcom uploads which seem virtually incomprehensible because the person putting it into Wikitree hasn't made the effort to integrate the information into a usable format.

My advice? Give yourself a little time to find out how Wikitree works before plunging into adding large amounts of information.

Oh, and welcome to Wikitree, Marcie1  We're glad to have you here!

The plain and simple Answer is no. You can not upload a spreadsheet to WikiTree.

The rest of the answer can be found in Dorothy's answer below.

If you want to convert your .csv (or other spreadsheet formatted file) file to a GEDCOM, you would need to import the .csv file into a family tree program then export it as a GEDCOM to upload it to WikiTree.

It used to be possible to use a tool that I made SPECIFICALLY for WikiTree's Gedcom import algorithms.  This tool permitted you to upload a csv file (most commonly made with Excel, but could be made with anything else).

Due to lack of responsiveness from the WikiTree team to questions I asked in order to be able to optimize the import capability, I have removed the tool from availabity - sorry, but it's not worth the trouble to me to support it in a vacuum.
