When you typed in the husband for your grandmother did a match for him come up?  This would be the easiest way of finding out her maiden name if the other person who entered your grandfather's information already knew his wife's maiden name.

I have seen the marriage records of my grandmother and her husband it there is no mention/record of her maiden name. Thank you very much though, appreciate your willingness to help
Sometimes, the birth records for children have the maiden name of the mother. Your grandmother's death certificate may also contain this information.
Hi, I typed in my mothers birth name with the last name Mchugh and nothing came up. she is still alive and using her ex-husbands name and when I use his name ( grant ) all records with Grant come up ... when I search for my grandmother under death I put in her name Mchugh which is her husbands name and of course no records of her maiden name are found thru marriage or death :( Thank you though
Try your mother's siblings, if she has some. Birth, death, wills, probate, etc.
Ho there, yes I did type in my grandmother's husband's name and only his parents come up. I am not going to pay for something g as simple as what my grandmother's madian name was. When I type under death, I only have her maiden name and of course that comes up. When I type birth, of course nothing comes up as again, I only have her married name Mchugh and that was not her name at birth and nothing comes up. I don't know much about her siblings. I just realized why this is so hard. I am actually looking for my grandmother's mother's name. My great grandma on my mothers side. Apparently, my great grandmother was a Russian Jew and and I guess my grandmother ( my great grandmother's daughter ) was treated very poorly especially from her Irish husband famity over this and when she had children, my mother being her youngest, she hid this fact and never said a word about it, raised her children catholic and kept her harritagage a secret ( and and entire side of family ) until late in life. I her grandchild, found this out iny twenties ( now in my forties ).y grandmother said she wanted to protect her children. After all her Irish mother-in-law threw her out of her house, calling her a Jewish bitch and throwing hot soup at her. So I can understand. Now, however, I would like to know my true ancestry. A call to my mother will fix this. I was just hoping to find the information on my own. Thanks everyone for your help! :)

Hi Gina, Need a bit more information if possible -- when and where did your grandmother die?  Any estimated birth?

Here is an off the wall Obit for Ohio (d. 2007 age 92 birth 1915); http://www.hopperfh.com/fh/obituaries/obituary.cfm?o_id=169857&fh_id=10584

and an obit in Greenville SC  http://www.thomasmcafee.com/obituaries/Evelyn-McHugh/#!/Obituary

.  If you know where she died, you might write to funeral parlor -- they sometimes have this information as part of the obit info.  Another place you could check is the County Death Certs.

Here is a list of McHugh's through Family Search.  A bit more info might let you narrow down to location and possible census info

https://familysearch.org/search/record/results?count=20&query=%2Bgivenname%3Aevelyn~%20%2Bsurname%3Amchugh~%20%2Bbirth_year%3A1900-1950~%20%2Brecord_country%3A%22United%20States%22

Hope that helps.

There is an obituary in the Daily Herald (suburban Chicago) for a person by this name:  age 83.  It shows Lawrenz as her maiden name.  She passed away 18 July 2004.  There are quite a few family members names given.  If you want an electronic copy, either contact me privately or figure out a better way.

The funeral home was Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, in Roselle, IL
