I wanted to share this family photo of my grand-uncle, 2nd Lieutenant Lionel Percy Tate with the community. He died 97 years ago today, (4th November 1918), and is buried in a little churchyard in France, at Wargnies Le Grand, which I visited this summer for the first time. Percy enlisted in 1913 and served in the army in France for most of the war, surviving many terrible battles such as Ypres and the Somme. He was killed in action only 1 week before armistice. His fiancé Sissy Dryden never married.
