Have you seen that G2G questions now appear on surname index pages?

Hi G2G'ers,

As of today, if you tag a G2G question with a surname the question will appear on the surname index page. For example, see http://www.wikitree.com/genealogy/Booth

Unfortunately G2G is still crowded with invitation requests from March and a lot of those were tagged with surnames. When we get a chance we'll remove all those tags.

Also, have you noticed that if you include a related WikiTree ID on a G2G question, the resulting question will be linked to that profile. For example, see http://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1850/looking-for-john-f-hatfield-1881-1960-and-betty-carroll

You've probably seen that the latest unanswered G2G questions get listed at the bottom of the main home page: http://www.wikitree.com/

Soon we'll be adding links from all WikiTree profiles and surname pages to G2G. On person profiles there will be links that say "Ask a question about this person" and on surname index pages there will be links that say "Ask a question related to this surname".

I hesitate to add these links because we don't want to overload G2G. We'll need to see how it goes and get your feedback.

Today I'm heading off to Ohio for the National Genealogical Society conference. (If you're going, come see me and Tami at the WikiTree booth!) We'll start experimenting with these links when I return.

Onward and upward,

Chris
