Hello everyone,
I hope you all are doing well this weekend. I am tired but fantastic!
Getting to the point, I may have found just the clue I need to determine a husband for Maggie Maloney! Either that or the possibility of a new boy in the Maloney siblings' ranks.
The clue is this:
a pair of newspaper clippings from September 1905 that state that Mr. and Mrs. John Weldon (Maggie's sister and her husband) of Fulton St are visiting Mrs. Weldon's brother in New York City and Albany this week.
Taking into account, the following two census records I will lay the background for my question:
The Weldon house in 1900 Hornell: https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MSG6-Y27
Note Catherine Maloney's statement that she bore 7 children but only 5 are currently living. The 5 are in birth order, Patrick, Arthur, William, Bridget and Maggie (presumably still living).
The Weldon House in 1905:

Oh lookie there, Fulton St!
The other Maloney households in 1905:
Patrick: https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MVBD-8Q4
Archie (Arthur): https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MVBD-3F1
William: https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MVBD-P61
Note: They all still live in Hornell!
The questions now are the following:
is Maggie still alive? Could these papers mean "brother-in-law" when they said "brother" or do newspapers take these concepts literally?
If anybody wants to help look for Maggie or a new brother I have yet to find, I will be using the following criteria to help narrow it down.
Maggie born between 1860 and 1870 (if too broad, please go 1863 to 1867)
She cannot be labeled daughter in a census.
She will not be married longer than 10 years in 1900 and thus no longer than 15 in 1905. FInally, she was born in New York and her parents are both Irish.
The first ten possibilities in Albany from the first 3 familysearch pages are:
