I have distant relations that seem to spell their surname in 2 ways, how can I set both surnames on Wikitree?

Looking at history, I've seen children of James (Bloodsworth-2) have a spelling of the surname Bloodworth or Bloodsworth .. I would like to have both in Wikitree, how can I do that?

In the profile editor, there is a field for "other surnames." Put the other name there, and the profile will be titled something like "Paul Bloodsworth also known as Bloodworth."

Thanks... I have added  "other surnames" to the whole family but I see another problem ...the wikitree search system will only find the main name and not link a search on the "other surnames" field. IE the "James Bloodworth" is still not = "James Bloodsworth" (as seem in daughters birth cert.)

If you put the other last name in the "current last name" field, that profile would appear as James (Bloodsworth) Bloodworth, and turn up in searches for either name. I'd stay away from doing it this way unless the person in question was born a Bloodsworth but became a Bloodworth over time. A clerical error isn't the same as a name that was commonly used by the ancestor.

Since WikiTree links family members to each other quite clearly, a compromise may be to use your discretion regarding available records and decide which profiles will have Bloodsworth as the last name at birth, and whose children were Bloodworth. This way, anyone searching for either name can easily click through to see that Daughter Bloodworth's father was a Bloodsworth.

Sorry to piggyback on an older post but you should be able to put Bloodsworth as the Last Name At Birth (LNAB) and Bloodworth as the other last name or current last name or whatever, and the opposite and be able to use the Full Name search, not just the surname search and pull it up. It can get tricky, I have this problem in my tree too.
