Did you see that the answer box now appears even when there are answers?

Regular G2G'ers might notice that today the answer box will appear on a question page whether or not the question has been answered.

Before, if you wanted to answer a question that's already been answered you had to click the little "answer" link. Many people would miss this.

Now, I imagine many people will miss the existing answers and assume the question is unanswered. I just did this myself on another question. :-)

Do you have a preference on this?

Though, we might not be good judges. Newbies are the ones who would miss the "answer" link, and they wouldn't have set expectations on the appearance of existing answers.

I wondered why the box was in the wrong place.
Why yes I did notice this Chris. I think it will certainly help our newer members and not-so-regular G2G'ers. Thanks!  Mags
Me too.
When I saw that box, I assumed I was looking at an unanswered question, and I didn't see the existing answers until after I'd added a new answer... I might get used to the change over time...
But I think I prefer seeing the existing answers and comments before I am tempted to write a new answer... (That is, I think I prefer the old way.)
I likewise think I prefer seeing the answer box after the answers.
Can we just make the current answer link a little bigger?

I was just fooled for the third time by this!!!  Wouldn't you think I'd have learned by now???

I answered what I thought was an unanswered question before seeing the answers below that big answer box.

If you're going to put the answer box there automatically, please Please, PUH-LEEZ put it at the bottom, after the answers that are already there.

I think it would be MUCH better to leave it off and just make the link (and all other links, as well) more ergonomically considerate - that pale green has so little contrast that it does not stand out well enough, and the teensy font makes it even worse.  On the same topic, it would be oh-so-much better if the ordinary text font were black instead of the dark gray that is also not as easily readable for those of us with geriatric eyes.

THANX for asking, Chris!

PS  I would recommend black with weight of 400 for text and you can use the same green, but with weight of 700 for links to make a tremendous improvement.

I really, really dislike this change Chris. And I think that newcomers won't realise there are already answers underneath the box..

Update: We switched back. The answer form no longer appears if the question has been answered. The links to answer/comment are now larger and underlined.

Thank you ... I really appreciate all the work you put into this.
Thank you!!

I don't like it.  If you insist on doing it this way at least put it below the existing answers.
