I subscribe to a software service known as geni.com and it offers several GEDCOM formats - which is best

www.geni.com offers the ability to export as GEDCOM file (in GEDCOM 5.5 format) of "blood relatives, ancestors, descendants, or tree" - have any other users had experience with this and if so, is there one option you recomend?

Those options are just to determine which people are exported in your GEDCOM. None of them is really better or worse than the others. It all depends on which people you want included. The "tree" option sounds like it would include all of the people you have on Geni, so that's probably what you'd want if you wanted to put your whole tree on WikiTree.

GEDCOM Export for .............

GEDCOM is a standard file format used to save, transfer, and transport genealogical information. Exporting a GEDCOM file will allow you to save your Geni family tree to your own computer. When you click the button below, we will generate your GEDCOM file and send you a link to download it.

Export

Blood Relatives

Ancestors

Descendants

Forest including connected inlaw trees A Forest export may take several days to complete.Options

Size: Profiles to export (between 1 and 5000 profiles)

You can choose between 4 different possibilities and the maximum is 5,000 persons.

The forest is the most advised option, but then the oldest generations will not be downloaded if you have more than 5,000 persons in the first generations!

The quality and the choice possibilities of Geni.com gedcoms is very bad.

If you upload these gedcoms to WikiTree you will see the birth- and death-data in the wrong field, in the notes!
