Is it OK to upload a Gedcom with people who already have profiles, noting each is not a match, and then merging them?

I'm in the process of cleaning up (in Family Tree Maker) and documenting better sources of information for a number of people in my Watchlist.  It is much easier for me to upload a Gedcom containing those people who already have profiles, noting each is not a match, and then merging them.  This allows me to let Gedcom do all the formatting for me, and I can simply delete the previous Biography and use the new one.  Much easier for me, but does it create any problems for WikiTree?

It sounds like you're talking about updating existing profiles with a GEDCOM upload, which is not something we do on WikiTree.

Since all profiles on WikiTree are collaborative, it would be unfair to other contributors if all their work could just be overwritten by one person's newly uploaded GEDCOM.
