I vote for Brewster....there are so many people connected through Brewster on Wikitree that I am certain, that profile is looked at a lot and should be an "example"
After reading both bios, I think Carver should be your 1st choice.  There are no descendants to worry about and cleaning up his bio should be fairly easy.  Brewster will take a lot longer to clean up, which can be tackled after Carver has been done.
As much work as William Brewster needs, I think Carver would be a swifter cleanup. I vote Carver.

Is voting open to everyone? I'm not in the Mayflower group. My vote for overhaul would be for:

Carver-538

My suggestion for John Carver was because his biography was so sparse. He is instrumental to the building of the colony, even though there are no known descendants. He is important to the descendants of John Howland, since John came as an indentured servant with the Carvers. He is also important because he was the first (short-lived) governor of the colony. Carver also worked to secure lands for settlement in the new world even before the pilgrims came over.

Here are a few simple sources to build on his biography:

Plimoth Plantation (working with NEHGS), short biography:

Pilgrim Hall Museum (each paragraph contains original source):

Anyone is allowed to vote and/or comment. It is not restricted to Mayflower Project members.

I vote for Brewster-4. I think his bio is more disorganized and is more in need of work.

I'd say Carver. Even though he's "not connected" to the tree, he was important, and should have a full bio.

The new William Brewster came out a few years ago and has much information about him ( https://www.themayflowersociety.org/shop13/books-a-publications/silver-books-and-mfip/elder-william-brewster-volume-24.html)

I agree that Carver should be the next choice, as it is currently bare bones, no pun intended, and any new info would improve it.

Those of us who are Mayflower Descendants know the names of the ones who left progeny.  We don't know the names of the ones who died in the first winter as well.

Makes me question whether we should have a first winter subgroup for this project.

Lots of info for Brewster, and little on Carver. If both men are so important, then I vote Carver-538 needs the overhaul the most.

[[Brewster-4]] is the one most needing to be cleaned up.  It is going to have the most impact on other people because of the number of people connected to it - the longer it sits with problems, the more confusion and errors will be made in other places.

It's also the more complex of the two.  [[Carver-458]] may be cleaned up with minor additions and corrections, nips and tucks made by people.  He has a bio - and if he needs more research, that's going to take a lot of time.

Brewster needs more intensive surgery not as much because of his importance (I think all of these people are important and interesting!) but because of the impact of errors and things omitted on his many descendants.

Brewster should get work done!
