Wikitree, FindAGrave and many online trees show that Sadie Viles, b. 1871 in Tennessee, the daughter of Richard and Mahala Viles, married John C. Higdon (1838-1904) and then married James Edward Johnson (1865-1929).
I question whether Richard and Mahala had a daughter Sarah/Sadie/Sallie for the following reasons:
* There is no Sarah/Sadie/Sallie living with Richard and Mahala in any US Census.
* I can find no record of a Sarah/Sadie/Sallie Viles marrying either a Johnson or a Higdon. Or a Higdon marrying a James Edward Johnson.

There are 8 children shown of the US Censuses with Richard and Mahala. Sarah/Sadie/Sallie would make 9.
Death records do establish that a Higdon (unnamed) married James Edward Johnson and had a son J R Johnson, b. 06 May 1908 in Sparta, White, Tennessee,("Texas Deaths, 1890-1976," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KSB5-Z63 : accessed 19 November 2015), Higdon in entry for J R Johnson, 13 Jun 1969; citing certificate number 43517, State Registrar Office, Austin; FHL microfilm 2,137,445.) but neither her first name nor the name of her parents is given.
Did James and Mahala have a daughter Sarah/Sadie/Sallie? Who married Hidgon and Johnson?
