DNA help with relationship between Andrew Ward Capps and Kedar Woodard

My goal is to confirm that Andrew Ward Capps (Capps-558) is the son of Kedar Woodard (Woodard-1086).  Normally I would know exactly what to do for DNA confirmation, but this is a little more complicated.  Kedar is on my paternal grandfather's side.  Kedar's uncle Monroe (Woodard-1123) is in my paternal grandmother's side.  So, I'm kin to Kedar twice.  My grandparents are actually 3rd cousins so the DNA is all mixed up.  Does anyone know a way to get DNA confirmation of the relationship between Andrew Ward Capps and Kedar?  Thanks!!

YDNA matching since the Y chromosone is passed only from father to son.  If Kedar Woodward has living male descendants in an unbroken male to male line they should match marker for marker.  Did Kedar have more than one son that had sons ? Or perhaps a brother that produced an unbroken male line to their father ?  The Y chromosome is passed only through males so the relationship through your grandmother shouldn't matter.  Hope I understood the situation correctly.

ok, I was mistaken.  Kedar Woodard's son, Oscar only had a daughter.  So, are there any other options?

Would it work if I find male lines from Kedar's father?

Did Kedar have a brother with sons ?  Kedar's father would have passed his YDNA to them as he did to your male line.
