Looking for info on my Maternal Grandparents side. I know My Maternal Grandfather Major Lucas b 1902-d1991 Maternal Grandmother, Sadie (carman) Lucas, b-1915 d-1972, and  both of their parents and their siblings, but past that generation, I don't have any good info. Also Major and Sadie had a child, Loretta, Jane, Lucas b jan 1941 and d jan 1941 and one other Nancy Irene, born June 1942, d, Jul 2009 (I think). Thanks again for any info most of their relatives are in the Lincoln, county, Casey County, Kentucky area. just not sure which. I know the Estes family comes in from Major's mother, as she was Loretta Estes Lucas, and Sadie's mother was, Eliza Jane, Falconbury Carman,  so that's where the Falconburys come in, not sure past that, though.

Hi Marty,

I'm working on all of the Lucas lines in Kentucky. I'm trying to tie them to my own lines. One of my lines are the descendants of Pias Lucas and the other are descendants of Benjamin Benedict Lucas. Both men, I believe, were soldiers. I am unsure of their connection at this point. I am also unsure of my connection to the Lucas/Estes section of the family, but I am positive there is one.

I recently put up some information related to Major and his family. It might help you.

I found a death certificate for William C. Lucas, with information given by his son, James Walter Lucas that gives the parents names for William as Dan Lucas and Liza (Leonard) Lucas.  I downloaded the death certificate and posted it as an image on William's profile https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Lucas-5653

I also found William living with his son Walter on the 1910 Census and added that information to the profile.  It lists the names of five children of Walter, as well.  Also, William is buried in the Estes cemetery.  His Find A Grave memorial has a photograph of him.

As for Walter's wife, Loretta (also on the 1910 census records), her Find A Grave memorial is connected to her mother's profile:  Elizabeth Jane Leonard, who married 1) John W. Estes and 2) Archibald Austin.  There are photographs on both Loretta's Find A Grave memorial:

I found this obituary in the online newspaper.  I see that it is also an image on his Find A Grave memorial, which is linked to many of his family members:  https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/21153985/major-lucas
