Please help untangling this family

When I was working on some profiles yesterday I found this family and in the 1860 as well as the 1870 census records there a woman named Julia Dyer that does not seem to fit. She is living with them and has the same last name but I see no connection. In the 1860 census there is also another woman, Ann that I can find any connection for. All of these profiles are Open so feel free to edit as needed if you can figure this out and they all have links to the census records when they apply.  It is possible that he had multiple spouses and it is also possible that the children may be linked to the wrong mother, but without any further information I am reluctant to change them in that way.

Nancy is a nickname for Ann.  Ann Jordan is probably his mother.

At this point, a guess would be Julia is a sister.

The older Ann Jordan is probably John's mother.

I found Julia on the 1850, 1860, and 1870 census sheets; ages given as 33, 48, and 52, respectively. Age discrepancies of +/- 5 years are common in census records, so I figure all three of those are the same person. She probably was John's sister -- a woman who for some reason was unable to marry or live on her own.

Julia A. Jordan, born in Cape Elizabeth, died unmarried in Cape Elizabeth on 4 January 1908, age 91 years, 6 months, and  0? (single digit number; looks like () -- i.e., two parentheses attached to each other) days (death certificate, from Ancestry, and Find-A-Grave page with gravestone image). Her mother's maiden name was Ann McKenney, which supports the idea that the older Ann Jordan was the mother of John and Julia.
