John Henderson Hinton Smith was born in 1822 in North Carolina (probably Rutherford County). His family moved to Henderson, Chester County, TN. He lived there until he was 18 years old when he moved to old Tishomingo County, MS. He married Aramantha S. Collins on 29 Oct 1849 in Marshall County, MS. He may be linked to Minor Winn Smith who was married to Jane Berry, however, I can find no definite proof of this connection. His findagrave link is:
