John Halliburton Floyd (Floyd 1200) and Minnie Polk (Polk 479)

My father's maternal grandparents are both mysteries. I have seen a copy of their marriage certificate from Hall County, Texas. My grandmother, Mildred Floyd Cockerham, always said her father died in the Spanish flu epidemic.

However, one of my father's cousins told my father that John Floyd did not die in 1917 and that he even remarried and had another family. He would probably have lived in the Palestine/Mt. Pleasant, Texas area or southwestern Arkansas.

Any assistance or possible clues would be wonderful.
