December's Connection Combat will start next week. Do you have suggestions for a good pairing that's not yet connected to the global tree?

Carl Sagan (Sagan-27) vs. Neil deGrasse Tyson (Tyson-646)

Neil deGrasse Tyson did Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, a reboot of Carl Sagan's 1980 series Cosmos: A Personal Voyage.

Both have profiles and are marked as notables, but neither are connected to the tree.

That's my suggestion :) I'll see if I can think of more.

Clement Clark Moore is already connected to the tree (or at least he was when I checked a week or so ago).

Updated: Yes, he's connected: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Moore-19507

As I posted elsewhere a little while back, my nominees for December are from the world of religion (and I'm not Catholic): Pope Francis and Pope John Paul II. Neither of them is connected -- and the profile for John Paul doesn't even mention that he was a priest, much less a pope!

The  "colonel that saved Christmas". I worked on him last week but still trying to connect him.

The movie, In the Heart of the Sea, directed by Ron Howard, opens in theaters on December 11, 2015 and I look forward to seeing it. It is based on the book by Nathaniel Philbrick, In the Heart of the Sea, the Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex.

This is the true story that inspired Herman Melville to write Moby Dick. Cabin boy Owen Coffin's heroic action is told in the book by Philbrick, so I hope his character will be in the movie.

Perhaps people would be interested in connecting to any or all of these people. I recently created the profile for Nathaniel Philbrick and he needs to be connected to the Global Family Tree.

I'd like to suggest a riff on a comment that I made on the thread about a third connection person back in July:

Pick the most notable people in the two largest unconnected trees on WikiTree, and make them the two people for a connection combat. That way, people will end up linking in, not just two people, but the two largest unlinked trees and everybody in them.
