Cannot get beyond by great grandmother, Bernardina (Dientje) van der Laan, and grandfather, Johannes Rens.

Johannes Rens (1830-1915, Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands) married a Bernardina (Dientje) van der Laan.  Everything stops there, cannot continue building the tree and have hit a dead end everywhere I look.

In the records that show their children's marriages, she is listed as Dientje Van Der Laan, with no mention of the name Bernadina.

As my mother understands it, Dientje is a common diminutive of Bernadina (Bernadina was her grandmother).
