Where do I go from here? Into the 'blank wall' or down another road?

Haven't been here for a while - sitting at home in total Frustration. After spending many months looking for my maternal grand father I feel like quitting. I do not know his name, he seems to have simply gone up in smoke after my mother's conception. Searched absolutely Everywhere including some strange places and down some unusual avenues, to no avail. What do I do next? Accept that I can never find him? Keep going? Help, please. Angela

Angela.    Give me everything you do know.Give me dates ,where and

to who.Your Grandmother name. Her maiden name. Her Childrens name.

and when born and where.I had some like this years ago.A man left for work

one morning, and he was never seen again. Then there was a cattle buyer, left by train to purchase some cattle, and was never seen again.

So it can happen. But my motto is ,when the going gets tough, the tough

get going.Let's try and find him.Give me all you know

Just looking at what records I can find on the family...

"England and Wales Birth Registration Index, 1837-2008," database, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:2FYH-CMR : accessed 12 December 2015), Gwendoline O Millard, 1916; from "England & Wales Births, 1837-2006," database, findmypast(http://www.findmypast.com : 2012); citing Birth Registration, Camberwell, London, England, citing General Register Office, Southport, England

This might be the birth record of your mother - would have to check to see if the exact date works.

Hunting around a bit more - will let you know if something else jumps out at me.
