I need any info on my grand farther John Douglas Gault Mississippi, please. He was 27 at his death in in 1955-56. e

I'm not sure exactly what you need to know but maybe this will help you.

JOHN DOUGLAS GAULT, JR., was born June 3, 1925 and died Jan. 13, 1956.  He is buried in the SHERMAN CEMETERY in Sherman, Pontotoc Co., Mississippi.  If you will go to the website, findagrave.com and type in his Memorial Number - 77210907 - you will see his memorial.  Please note that the person that typed in his death date has "1952", but he died in "1956".

He served in the US NAVY during World War II.  In the records of the "Headstone Applications for Military Veterans" there is record of JOHN DOUGLAS GAULT, JR. - a headstone for him was requested by MRS. GENEVA GAULT, who resided in Williams Subdivision, New Albany, Mississippi.

He was the son of JOHN DOUGLAS GAULT, SR., who was born Aug. 14, 1897 in Jonesville, Union Co., South Carolina and died Sept. 28, 1954 in Los Angeles, California.

His mother was VIVIAN KELLY, who was born Jan 11, 1901 and died July 2, 1989 in Tupelo, Lee Co., Mississippi.

JOHN JR.'s parents separated at some time because JOHN DOUGLAS GAULT, SR. married MILDRED ELIZABETH BARR about 1950 in California.

Since we know where JOHN JR was buried, you could contact the Sherman Cemetery in Sherman Mississippi and request any information that may have in their records.

Fascinating! I bet we are related! My paternal side is Gault's in Fountain Inn SC and I know we have cousins in MS because my father and his brother often went to visit them in Greenville MS for goose/duck hunting trips back in the late 70s and 80's.
