I can not find the biological father of my great grandfather whose name was David H. Samples. Family lore whispers the name of Schoonover, but nothing exists that proves this as true or false. "Kanawha County Family Tree Project" gives information to tell me the name of his mother and her parents, but nothing on his father. In life, Sarah M. Samples never reveiled the name of the father of her son. Jesse C Riley who married Sarah M. Samples did not legally adopt him, so he retained his mother's maiden name.
