Historical. My ancestors (Gutenstein) comes from Usingen, back to the early 1800s.

In the Hesse of today there is a system of rehistries installed, where everybody can see the registries after 1876, for Usingen even since 1870. They are written in Sütterlin, similiar to "current" or "Kurrent", after 1943 also in latin Letters. Landesarchiv der Gemeinde-Standesämter Hessen.

In the search line you have to fill in the name of the city or village. Then you get all registries for birth, marriage and death, that are in the system between 1870 and 1900, the marriages until about 1930 an the death registries until 1956.
