Having trouble finding out who my grandfathers parents are. John Little

John Little born 1834 Ireland and died in 1879 in perry OH. He married Margaret Jane McVitty. I joined www.rootsireland.ie with no luck. Have his pension record from when he was in the service. Found a death record that said his father's name was Little. I have tried to find the minister on the Web that married them to see where they might have gotten married. I have been looking for this man's parents since I started. If none could help I would be forever in debt to you! Thank you in advance for any help!

I think the tag you posted with this question is missing a t.  Not much help, but help indeed.  Happy New Year!
Not sure if this will help but my cousin sent away to get copies of the pension application for our great great grandfather and recieved a font of information including transcriptions of records and even copies of letters and marriage record. there were even notarized affidavits from his siblings. I am unsure of the fee but it may be worth a shot.

Not an answer, but have you checked the database Search for Missing Friends on americanancestors.org or the book they published, which is advertisements in newspapers searching for famine Irish relatives and friends with whom they lost contact? I am no longer a member (cannot afford it at this time) but someone might be able to check if you cannot do that yourself. Many of the advertisements give the Irish locations and family relationships. Also, do you a record of his immigration? Perhaps he came with other family members that might give you more clues to finding his parents.
