Parents unmarried

Surely this question has been answered somewhere, but my searches turned up nothing.  MY PROBLEM: I want to show the link between two persons who produced a baby out of wedlock. Can I do this in the "spouse" field without thereby declaring, by default, that they had officially married?  Specifically:  A man named Mike & a woman named Michelle had a baby, but didn;t marry each other, then Mike married someone else 4 years later.  What to do?  Do I have to relegate this to the "Bio" section only?

If you already have them married, then go to the edit tab on either spouse and on the right side click "add remove a spouse"

Parents will remain connected to child

or if not Married, add parent father or mother, but un check box ? is the spouse.

Mike is correct, but just to expand on the general point: You're talking about a situation where the parents have no relationship with each other. At least not one that fits into simple "parent, child, spouse, sibling" categorization. So, the relationship between Mike and Michelle will need to be explained in their bios if it needs explaining. But this does not affect Mike's relationship with his child and Michelle's relationship with her child. Every child has one father and one mother. Those parent-child relationships are not in any way dependent on there being a relationship between the father and mother.
