Cool find while searching for John Gray, Revolutionary War soldier of Noble County, Ohio

I love being a Greeter. I had seen a volunteer message earlier today from a guest who was looking for John Gray, of Noble County, Ohio, who had served in the War for Independence. Just got a chance to go looking, and found a DAR record for a John Gray of Noble County with a pension number. Then looked on Southern Campaigns Revolutionary War Pension Statements & Rosters & found the transcript ... of the next-to-last surviving pensioner of the Revolution. He died March 29, 1868 & had been granted a pension at age 103 by an act of Congress the year before!

The transcript has a picture & his signature too!
