The porfile listed is the father to my great grandmother Dorothy June (Smith) Racette. His name is Arthur Smith born in 1887 at IL. Passed away in 1966 in the northern part of Minneapolis, MN. Not mucth is known about him. Except something about a car accident in the 60's.

Smith-36786, my great grandmother, was born in MN in 1916. She lived there her whole live in the Twin Cities area. Passed away 1997 in MN and is buried in there. Her mother's maiden name is Bromes according to the Minnesota Death Index site. She married Horton James Racette in 1933.

The confussing part is her family. For there are family members with each their own story of events. I had been pieceing together what I can since she passed. Which is not much either. Sometimes what I found I find that I was incorrect too.

I have both in a 1940s census in MN. Some reason can't pull up 1930 on Family Search site. Trying to see if I can find 1920s. Really not successful to tracing anything on the her family on records. I thank those who have assist me in my current searches.

Note:

1) My father has stated that there is also Gibbs include in her family. She might have lived with a step mother Gibbs? Like I said everything is hear say with no leads.

2) Arthur Smith was divorced in the 1940 census.

3) His middle name can be George. In the death index it has the inital of G and on the census.

Any help will be welcomed. Like I said those who aid me before. Thank you for everything.

I updated his profile based on info from FamilySearch.org.  Apparently, his middle name was Garfield per WWII draft form.  https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Smith-37424

I did find a 1910 census that I do think it is Arthur Smith and Esther Smith. They are in Minneapolis Ward 12, Hennepin, Minnesota. It also States that they are living at 28 Ave. So. Father's Birth place is Germany and Mother's B/P is Germany. Occupation is Beveler, Glass Co.
Arthur Smith - age 22

Esther Smith - age 20  If you can bring it up, click on to the census where it says View others on page in blue. There you will find an  Anna Brons age 24 born 1886 Minnesota and White Female, Street- 28 Ave.So. daughter

Father is Richard Brons and mother is Christine Brons... Both born in Sweden. Native tongue- English - Occupation Clerk-grocery Store. Able to read and write -yes;

Richard Brons -age 29 ;  Christine Brons -age 51;  Anna Brons -age 24;  Minnie age 22; Alfred - age 17;,  Clara -age 15;  Lawrence Brons age 11.    I also found the 1940 census where he was living with the Racette, but they have it spelled Recette so it may be that try putting in the name as Recette instead of Racette. let me know if you need any help. Thanks nancy

Hello, your post is an old one so I don't know if you're still looking for info, but my Mom, Marjorie, was Dorothy's older sister. Smith was Vern, Marge, and Dot's father, and according to my mom an abusive husband and father--she would never discuss him any further. Esther and he were divorced and she remarried someone named Gibbs who is the father of their little brother Richard. Gibbs died before I was born, but by all accounts he was a good husband and father and he adopted my mother at her request. Hope this helps.
