I am looking for John Erskine 1764 and Mary Speirs 1788 who came to Canada

Question

John Erskine is said to be descended from Patrick Erskine, who is said to be descended from James Erskine 1696 and Sarrah Adam 1700.

They all seem to be around the Kilmalcom, Lanarkshire and Glascow areas of Scotland.

I am curious if they are not related to royalty somehow and where exactly this line goes??
