Hi All,

Hope you all had a great weekend! :)

I'm looking for funeral dates of two (famous) people in The Hague for a long time. I'm not in a hurry. Passed 1637 and 1687. Trying some now and then. But not much results. I found, I think a note tonight on paying for the grave. Now I m looking at this churchbook and  I might be blond but what order is there in this book. Not at dates. Looks like a kind of at Lastnames but that s not even clear. Anyone can help me to see the order the minister/clerck used? Thank you so much for taking time.

Hi Astrid,

groet Johan.

I agree with Johan. It certainly looks like record keeping by grave number, with successively more corpses per grave(!?). Last entry per grave possibly says the grave went out of use.

So the main order is ascending grave number, and then per grave number ascending dates of burial.
Love you both! That makes sense. Too late now to go into that again so I will look tomorrow and will tell you both how much you helped me.

I did see some kind of place notes of the graves at the top of the page........ wondered and wondered. Got tired of deciphering. Happy you both took time for me.

:) Thank you! Dank!
