What information is in The American Genealogist 85:26-28?

The ''Great Migration Newsletter,'' Vol 20, Page 23 in a "Recent Literature" article, cites Leslie Mahler in The American Genealogist Vol 85, (2011) Pages 26-28 - "The English Origin of George Abbott of Rowley, Massachusetts."

Apparently, Maher found records which "demonstrate" that George Abbott, Sr. was baptized on 24 November 1586 at Chappel, Essex, England.  Might it also reports his parents (long debated)? and what other goodies might be there?

Anyone with access, would you please gather the "down and dirty" and either let me know ... or add it to the profile for George Abbott, Sr, immigrant?

Thank you in advance!

Although TAG is on the American Ancestors Website, apparently new issues are not. They stop at issue 84.

I have the Great Migration Newslatter if you need it but not this TAG article. I'm a TAG subscriber but not that far back. You can order back issues for $12 directly from TAG. There are four issues in Vol 85 so download the TOC first and make sure you order the right one. Many major city libraries and family history centers have them on the shelves:

http://americangenealogist.com/shop/order-back-issues/

If that link doesn't work go to their home page and click on shop and then back issues.

Actually here it is:

THE ENGLISH ORIGIN OF GEORGE1 ABBOTT OF ROWLEY, MASSACHUSETTS
Leslie Mahler

It is in 85.1 - so that's the one to order.

Leslie Mahler is a genealogy god. Everything he writes is superlative. This will be a very good article for sure.
Wow!  Thank you both!

I was kind of hoping someone already had a subscription to the recent TAG issues.  Correct, not included in AmericanAncestors (I do subscribe to that).  Guess I'll give it one more day and then pay the $12.  Thank you, Roland, for the specifics on what to order.
You never know Cynthia - someone may read this and send you a copy! Hope they do! We need like a Wikitree library of TAG journals that we can check out virtually :)

Cynthia,

I'll put it on my to-do list for the LDS FHL in Salt Lake, if no one has it available, I should have it by mid-Feb.

Superb find on George, by the way!

Cheers, Bobbie

P.S. Even better - my local library has it. I'll see if I can get to it next week, if you don't have anyone sooner.

Thank you, Bobbie!
Cynthia ... Got it. I'll send you an email tonight. LOVE technology!!
As one of the myriad descendants of George Abbott of Rowley, I'm curious to hear what you find in that article, Cynthia!

And I'm also wondering when it will show up on AmericanAncestors. The NEHGS says they have all but the most recent 5 years of TAG, so the 2011 volume ought to show up within the year.
The descendants of George will be pleased to know that the article has been procured and we'll get the info up on the appropriate profiles soon. I hope no one is too disturbed that they are *not* related to Sir Morris/Maurice ... :D
Ooh -- do we get to eliminate another "Questionable Gateway Ancestor"?!?
Yes indeed! You're going to like this one Ellen, but I think we're going to have to work through some "resistance." :D
This is fabulous, Bobbie!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!  ;-D  (will be in touch with you by email)  and thank you to everyone who replied, too.

I just knew someone would have it.  Wooopeee!
