I have to say that you made me look, but I lost interest very quickly when I saw a statement in the bio that he descended from a mythical person.

I would be inclined to take this question more seriously if there had been some attempt to clean up the bio after all the merges before linking to it from here.

I think we need something stronger than "Research suggests that this person may never have existed." If all major sources are unanimous in claiming a person was mythical they should be clearly marked as such, detached from others (in this case maybe not from his equally mythical daughters) and any project template removed unless somebody can come up with a new and credible source.

The argument to retain these mythical profiles was always that if they were merged away someone would come along and recreate them. Now that there are more limitations on the creating and editing of pre-1500 profiles, the chance of that happening seems less likely.  Perhaps eventually when all the current changes are more bedded down, other options for what to do with these profiles can be discussed.

I've often considered whether these mythical profiles should belong in the EuroAristo project and for the moment I think they should until something else can be arranged.  It's a bit nonsensical, but I've been putting the template at the bottom of the biography section if they're mythical.
I fully agree that they should be kept for the moment if for no other reason but to prevent somebody from coming along and reinvent them. They could be linked to in the bio, with an explanation. But may be they should not have the EuroAristo template attached but an alternative, it always strikes me as some sort of sign of approval to see it (even though I know better). Too bad the Ghostbusters logo is copyrighted.
