Writing biographies / family histories

I am looking for advice, templates, examples, etc. to help me take the dates, numbers,  facts, family stories, etc. I have collected in my research and turn them into something that is readable and interesting.  I have tried several different approaches on my own and just have not found anything that I liked.  I love the way many old obituaries read but have just not found a style/method that gives me the flexibility I need based on the amount of information I have on an individual and to later - potentially - add information as I uncover it.  Any thoughts?

thanks.

As a related question... Depending on the type of "template" I use is there a way through coding or whatever to get "wikitree" to automatically fill data into my biography "template" that had been previously entered during the creation of the person's record?

Great question, Brian!

Regarding the last part, about a template: This is feasible. We used to do something like this before we started emphasizing the use of sources and footnotes in bio templates. To see it action, try completely deleting a bio that doesn't have any content in it. Then go back to the profile page and click one of the links in the bio section, such as the one that says "[education?]". A very basic bio will be auto-filled with a few facts. We could extend this concept if you come up with a good template.

Maybe once our style committee comes to an agreement on a biography standard this is something we can make happen.
