I know proper procedure to have family merged by trusted list, but an inactive person since 2012

Question

I want to follow proper procedures, but I have more than one person that will need merged. This profile manager is related by the same family lines..I do not know them and I have been unable to get response from them. They have not been active since 2012

I have two sides that I cannot connect with. This manager did not get the whole family listed. (gr grandfather) Two of one family son and father, and the mother and wife of said father. Then the other side of family she went back to my gr grandmother all the way to 4 generations with spouses.

If I can ever get a hold of her via email, private messages etc, which I have done so several times..Is there a way that they will all connect? Or do I have to worry about trying to connect each one since it is my gr grandfather then gr grandmother's families through her trusted list?

Lori,

The process is to ask to be added to the trusted list.  At the same time send a private message to the manger and add a message on the manager's profile.  After waiting the required amount of time make a request to have all of the profiles opened.  It may take as long as 3 months to work through the process.

While you are waiting go ahead and add the profiles that are missing.   Then when you are able to adopt the other profiles you can connect them all together.  Double check that there are not any duplicates - there may be several and if so you should try to have all of them opened and try to adopt them as well.

While it seems like a slow process it does work - it just takes time.

I did all of that,

-asked to be added Trusted List, and sent private messages and also put a note on managers profile which has disappeared.

 

I did not know I could add the missing links if there were others out there that matched them.

Lori,

If it has been more than a week since you have sent the requests - you should submit an unresponsive profile manager request - be sure to list all of the ID's that you are aware of.

I'm having the same problem.. It says the member hasn't been on WikiTree since about 2013, I've discovered through Ancestry.com's DNA that I have a relation with a big group of ancestors this person has. I don't know which one and the person is not responding. It has only been a day but, I'm excited to find out  who I'm related to and how. I'll admit... I did create one duplicate in hopes of finding the connection and it didn't work.

What saddens me more is that I have more information on these people than his profile and we could be working together. AND I could potentially be related to this member.

Hang in there Darlene, I finally got it resolved, it does take time, but it will be worth it to finally have connection. Follow the process to get to your resolution as answered above by Phillip
