First thing....what you have done....ask for help.   Second thing, which I did for you, clearly mark the profile that there is an issue, so that no further editing or merging happens.

Then, reconstruct the two profiles off line, by going back through the changes on both profiles.   If you look at the change tab on the profile merged into...you will see  (Merged Campbell-10425 into Campbell-2202: Clear duplicate.) If you hit the link for Campbell-10425, you will go to the changes tab for that profile, so you can see all the data that was on that profile before the merge.

You will need to pay close attention to the children, parents and wives to assure that they are reconstructed correctly using sources that were on the two profiles.

A first glance says that both profiles indicate that this merge was not the "first" incorrect merge done.   Finally, when you are ready, you can reconstruct the profile(s) that were merged away.

Patricia, for this one, I am offering to do the work as this one  appears so complex.

I accept! I accept!  Thank you so much, Robin.  And I am so sorry to put you to all this trouble!!.  :-(

Incidentally, I can find no evidence that any dukes of Argyll migrated to America, but haven't looked very hard!

You are correct about the Duke of Argyll...that was a mistake made in a book in 1902 and has been continued forever...I got a statement from the US Campbell Clan that I added to the profile on the subject.   Almost done!
Done!   And it was three John Campbells confused together...
